A while back, it´s actually been over 6 months! goodness I meant to write this post ages ago, ……anyway, I decided to give oil painting a try, a bit crazy I know, completely out of my comfort zone, but there you have it, I gave it a try.
Of course, I also went a bit crazy and used a rather large canvas, so it took a while to finish. This is all done with a palette knife, no brushes.
I must admit I´m not overly fond of it, although my husband really likes it, so I gave it to him 🙂 I decided to make a much smaller painting of a sunflower, and this one I really like.
It´s a bright sunshiny painting and always makes me happy when I look at it, I just love the sun and sunny days. Here at home the sun has just peeped out from behind the clouds, so I´m off to the garden to soak it up, before it disappears again.
Are you a sun lover?
Awesome! Alice, you’re turning into a real artist! I love both paintings. Although if I had to choose between them I’d also go for the sunflower. The same reasons as you. I also just love the sun & warm weather which is what the sunflower reminds me of. What are you painting now? Looking forward to see the next … ❤️🥰🥰❣️

Thanks, I think painting will be on hold for quite a while, busy with my art quilt, and other quilts at the moment 🙂

Wow these paintings are amazing! I love the yellows in the yellow sunflower painting. You did some amazing textures in the center of the flowers that gave it such a realistic while style artistic feel! Nice!
